Chameleon plus Pattern!

Hi Everyone!

I've decided to post a few of my patterns, starting with my newest critter applique... the chameleon!

I used army green for the only reason that I could not find another green to crochet with tonight!

This is my first time writing a pattern, so bear with me please!

Yarn: Army Green, Red Heart Yarn
Hook Size: US F

I will be using the following short cuts:

ch = chain
sc = single crochet
dc = double crochet
tc = triple crochet
hdc = half double crochet
sl = slip stitch

The end result should look like this:

Please follow along!

Ch 3, dc 10 in magic circle, sl closed
ch 18, turn.

2 hdc in second chain from hook, sl in next 8 sc back, sc in next two sc, hdc in next three sc, dc in next 3 sc, sl to round, turn
Chain 2, hdc in next 7 dc, sl in next 2 dc

Congrats! Now the top is done! Now lets work on the feet.

Sl your yarn from the top to bottom from the BACK. I did this simply because I hate cutting and restarting my yarn just for one little applique. You should now be working on the bottom of the chameleon starting from the tail on the right side. Please refer to the picture if you get stuck!

Sl 1 dc, (for the next stitch, repeat again for the second foot) *sl in next st, 2 tc, sl*, sl in next 2 dc, then repeat *sl in next st, 2 tc, sl*, sl and faston off. Use a yarn needle to hide the threads.

Congrats! You now have your very own homemade chameleon! I'm going to try this again after I see my mini craft group and I'll update the stitches afterwards! j

  1. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! I am in the process of finishing a Rapunzel granny stripe (lavender/gold) and just laid out the tower to applique on. Something was missing....yep, Pascal. I didn't think I would be able to find a chameleon. But then there you were!!!! Again, Thank you for putting this out there!
